Our New Year's Resolution Dear friends of Life and Family, Words cannot express how grateful we are for the support and generosity that is now growing in response to our Christmas campaign. Our Wednesday letter resulted in a very encouraging number of donations and positive comments. We truly appreciate the fact that so many of our readers support and care for the LifeSiteNews mission. Yet we still have a long way to go. To date, LifeSiteNews has received $34,000, or about 23% towards its current need with three weeks remaining. However, we are positive that you can help us achieve the $150,000 goal by December 31st. Please donate to our 2010 Christmas Campaign (Click here to donate) While our last letter emphasized the need for us to continue the LifeSiteNews expanded services thanks to the new website, I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you our vision for the future, our long-term goals, and some of our plans to impact the culture even more in 2011. So here are a few of LifeSiteNews’ New Year’s Resolutions: - To become the Associated Press of life, family, and culture-related issues
- To increase our readership from 9 million pageviews per year to a minimum of 12 million
- To develop and enhance collaborative networks with more organizations and individuals throughout the world, so we can publish news reports that will help them to more effectively influence the culture within their communities and nations
- To hire more top-notch writers and support staff to expand our reach and achieve our goals
- To upgrade the communications apparatus and resources of LifeSiteNews journalists to intensify their investigative reporting and produce the very best, up-to-date reports
- To take advantage of the communications and presentation advancements found in the newly launched website to increase the impact of LifeSiteNews reports
- To put our reporters on the ground in New York City where Chris Slattery’s Expectant Mother Care Centers are saving lives everyday with mobile ultrasounds, or in Las Vegas where pregnancy counselors go to learn how to save lives and support mothers, or in Brazil where practicing Christians defended the traditional family by rejecting the homosexualist agenda of the ruling party
We want to be there. We want to bring you these stories, and we ask that you take us to the next level. We’re not asking you to simply help LifeSiteNews stay afloat until the next fundraiser. We’re asking you to make an investment in the LifeSiteNews vision for the future – a vision that is largely a response to the expressed needs of our readers. Last night, for instance, I unexpectedly met a leader from an Eastern European country who told me that the pro-life organization there heavily relies on LifeSiteNews. This was news to me. She agreed to begin sending us reports on newsworthy developments in the country on a regular basis. Your dollars will put good people in the right place at the right time, shining a light that is all too often obscured in a dark world. We want to bring you stories about Caritas, the home and care facilities in Germany that help young, pregnant women. We want to publish updates and victories from the African Anti-Abortion Coalition in Nigeria, the Institute for Marriage and Family in Peru, and the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition from all over the world. In 2011, we will strive to report on the victories, great and small, ranging from the legislative successes pushed by Americans United for Life in Washington, DC, all the way to the college student who chooses life at the Care Net clinic in Moscow, Idaho. In addition to direct pro-life and pro-family news reporting, we want to be able to cover a wider range of issues that affect the culture and which are poorly covered by the mainstream media upon which we have all been forced to rely. We want to become your most important and reliable news source - a news source that you can always trust - a news source that is courageous and based on solid principles. Hope and motivation to much-needed action are what LifeSiteNews can bring you. Your support can allow us to shine that light of hope for all the world to see. This is our mission. We invite you to share it with us. Invest in truth. Invest in the victory of Life over death. Invest in LifeSiteNews. Donate to our Christmas Campaign through a donation of $5, $50, $100, $1,000, even $5,000 or more. (Click here to donate) Thank you for your continued support of LifeSiteNews. God bless.
