If you did not read today’s letter, “We must embrace conflict”, please check it out. There has been a very good response from readers to it.

Two prominent individuals unexpectedly condemn abortion in the West as a great societal evil, and they are not even religious leaders. Actor Jim Caviezel and Lord Nicholas Windsor, the son of the Duke and Duchess of Kent each warn the West of the great danger it has placed itself in because of its toleration of abortion.

Pope Benedict, using uncharacteristically alarming language, also warns that “the future of the world is at stake”, in large part due to the moral disintegration of society.

Other stories today reinforce what these three men have said. This all ties in with the message that we published early today, inspired by the words of Lia Mills.

Yes they all know that it is very near Christmas, when people prefer to hear all about peace and joy. And yet, they have chosen the time of the celebration of the birth of Christ to give their hard messages. It would seem that is their way of honoring Him by speaking difficult truths, as He did.

These men are sticking their necks out for love of their fellow man. They embrace this conflict. We should thank God for men such as these and do likewise ourselves - as a much needed act of love.
