Fair is fair.
Last time, I spent the whole Secret Warcraft e-mail talking about
speed leveling.
So today I'll concentrate on money and gold.
I've told you before about my friend Luke's incredible gold guide.
And I've been getting questions asking for specifics, like
exactly what do you get if you buy Luke's guide. And how good is
the information... really.
In just a sec, I'll show you. Luke has given me permission to
share one of his high-powered tips in this e-mail, so you will
get an ideas of just how valuable his guide will be to you.
What do you get? Well, Luke is constantly up-dating the guide,
so it gets bigger and better all the time. But as of right now,
you get a 160-page plus downloadable e-book, with nearly 150
real, working techniques for making piles of gold fast.
On top of that, you get really useful bonus guides that cover
great grinding locations at all levels, fishing in total
detail (a seriously useful profession if you know what to do...
especially now in Burning Crusade!), and how to use the
Auctioneer add-on to the max.
Just these bonus guides are worth the price of admission, the
info is great.
Now without further ado, here is one of Luke's gold tips, right
out of the book, an exclusive just for you. Aren't you glad you
joined my list now? :)
Remember, there are nearly 150 more like this, applicable to every
level, from about level 10 right on up to 70.

Getting Gold
++++++++++++++
In the Burning Crusade expansion, there are some new recipes for
Leatherworkers that make really cool looking hats. The hats
are called Stylin' Adventure Hat, Stylin' Purple Hat, Stylin'
Crimson Hat, and Stylin' Jungle Hat. They also have pretty nice
stats on them.
The first hat, Stylin' Adventure Hat, the pattern drops in the
Old Hillsbrad Foothills instance off of the Durnholde Rifleman.
The Stylin' Purple Hat pattern drops off of Blackheart the
Inciter, in Shadow Labyrinth instance. The Stylin' Crimson Hat
pattern only drops from Sethekk Ravenguard in Sethekk Halls.
Lastly, the Stylin' Jungle Hat pattern drops off of the Rift
Keeper and Rift Lord inside The Black Morass.
The hats crafted from these recipes will most likely sell
for high prices on the Auction House at first. After they have
become more common, they will probably drop slightly in price.
So leatherworkers should be sure to get the recipes and start
cashing in as soon as possible.
These recipes are Bind on Pickup, so you must be present in the
instance group to win it. I should also note that only
Leatherworkers are able to see and roll on BoP recipes, so you
cannot be out-rolled by someone who just intends to vendor it.
Now what if you're not a leatherworker? Well, even lowbies can
take advantage of the Stylin' Hat trade.
Zhevra Leather !!
You might think I have lost my mind. Maybe you are asking
yourself, "What's so important about Zhevra Leather, since it
comes from low level Zhevras?" Well both the Stylin' Adventure
Hat and the Stylin' Purple Hat will be desired by anyone who has
the armor proficiency to wear them.
One of the required materials for these hats is 4 pieces of
Zhevra leather. In case you are not aware, Zhevra leather can
only be skinned off of low level Zhevras in The Barrens. Since a
level 70 does not want to waste their time in The Barrens to
farm for the leather, they will be looking to the Auction House
for their supply. I mean after all, who can bear to hear the
chat in The Barrens?! This could be a great opportunity for low
levels, or even for high levels that wish to gather them. Check
the prices for Zhevra leather on your server.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Thanks for that Luke!
Now let me update his info with actual prices, and what you
can expect to earn. Let me remind you again, check your own
server's auction houses to get realistic prices.
The going rate for Zhevra Leather is 80 silver - 1 gold per
piece, or 15 gold - 20 gold for a stack of 20. Now before you
get all excited, be aware that the drop rate for this leather
is only around 6% - 8%. So you can make good gold farming the
Zhevras in the Barrens, as low as level 12 or 13 (for the
Level 14 Zhevra Runners), but it will take time. The good news
is that you will also pick up a lot of Light Leather while
you're at it (20% - 35% skinning drop rate, depending on level
of Zhevra), which should get you another 80 silver to 1 gold
per stack of 20. Plus stackable vendor trash such as Long Tail
Hair.
Also, note that the Zhevra leather can drop as ordinary loot
(that's the 6 - 8 percent noted above), but you can also get
it by skinning, which will up your rate of return a little if
you are a skinner.
So in summary, a level 12-13 skinner can make about 3 - 5 gold
per hour working the Zhevras. A level 20, focusing on the
higher level Zhevra Coursers around Camp Taurajo, should be
able to make 8 - 10 gold per hour. You'll also pick up some
decent XP by killing the Zhevras closest to your own level.
Now, you might think you can just hang around on WoW forums
and pick up the same kind of information for free. Just try
it! Most of what you find on the forums is untested,
inaccurate, or just plain speculation by goofballs who have
no idea what they're talking about, and just want to spout
off for the sake of being heard.
Everything in Luke's gold guide is accurate, detailed,
tested and up-to-date. As I said, almost 150 separate tips
and techniques. Even if you *could* find this stuff on the
forums, just think how long it would take to sift through
all the crap.
Go take a look right now, while you're thinking of it:
