Hi again Korsaan.

Last e-mail, I promised some more gold-making tips for lower
level characters.

Compared to the Blood Elf Bandit Mask farming routine,
nothing else comes close for gold-per-hour potential, until
you reach the Outlands and you make level 70 (or at least
the high 60's).

But there are plenty of ways to farm gold, as long as you
are patient and willing to put in the effort.

There are just a few basic approaches:

1) camping or farming a particular high-value item that most
players don't know where to find - or they are too impatient
to bother camping for it. The Blood Elf Bandit Mask is a great
example. There are several rare-drop recipes that fall in this
category, too.

2) running an instance solo, to loot and vendor (or
disenchant) all the greens and blues that drop from elites.
You have to be way above the level of the instance to do this.
Scarlet Monastery Graveyard is the best example of this that's
suitable for characters under level 40.

3) gathering or fishing a trade skill ingredient that is in
high demand and sells well on the Auction House.

4) buying limited supply items from Vendors, and selling them
for a profit on the Auction House.

Today, I'll give you some examples of the last technique,
buying and selling limited-supply items. This is great for
easy, quick cash. You don't make a whole lot per transaction,
but you can do it on a daily basis without taking too much
time away from leveling and other Warcraft activities... and
the gold really adds up over time!

Next e-mail, I'll give you some tips for profitable fishing
and gathering.

Limited Supply Items
++++++++++++++++++++

This is a simple technique, and you'll be surprised how
profitable it can be.

There are quite a few limited-supply items that NPC vendors
sell, that most players can't find. Or maybe they'd just
rather not take the time to go looking for them. Either
way, the result is that you can just buy the item whenever
it's available, for 40s - 80s in most cases, and turn
around to sell it at auction for 3 - 5 times the price,
i.e. 2g - 5g per item.

These limited supply items "spawn" on timers at each
vendor. Typically, they spawn every 2 hours or every 4
hours, something like that. Each item is different. Once
they spawn, there is just 1 of the item for sale, and as
soon as it has been bought, it disappears from the Vendor's
inventory. This is why most players have trouble finding
the items - they never see them for sale, even though they
visit the correct vendor.

Here are some nice examples that I've turned for profit
myself - so I know they work :) Your mileage may vary on
your particular server, I advise you to check into the
availability and pricing of these items on your Auction
House before you invest too much effort in buying and
selling.

Recipe: Elixir of Shadow Power
Buy it from Alchemy Supplies vendors in Stormwind (Maria
Lumiere, in the Alchemy shop on your left, just after you
go into the Mage Quarter); and Undercity (Algernon, in the
Apothecarium). Buy it for 1g, sell it on the AH for
3.5g - 5g. Sometimes goes for 10g, but don't get greedy...
just sell for a nice profit, and be happy.

Recipe: Free Action Potion
Buy it from Alchemy Supplies vendors in Ironforge (Soolie
Berryfizz, in the Alchemy shop across from the Tram
entrance); and Orgrimmar (Kor'geld, off The Drag, on your
way down to Cleft of Shadow). Buy it for 18s, sell on the
AH for 1g - 2g.

The above 2 are perfect for low-level characters. You're
literally just buying an item at a shop in the City, then
go around the corner to the Auction House and put it up
for sale at 300% markup. I told you it was easy gold!

For the higher levels (but still in "mount-money" range):

Recipe: Frost Oil
Buy it from Alchemy Supplies vendor Bro'kin, in the ruins
in Alterac Mountains (a little hard to find, location is
39,39, take the walkway up to him on the northern wall of
the ruins). Buy it for 25s, sell on the AH for 5g and up.
Can go quite high on some servers.

Pattern: Nightscape Shoulders
Buy it from Nioma, Leatherworking Supplies vendor in Aerie
Peak, The Hinterlands (downstairs in the Inn); and from
Jangdor Swiftstrider, Leatherworking Supplies vendor in
Camp Mojache, Feralas (inside the big tent). Buy it for
40s, sell on the AH for 2g - 4g.

That's enough to get you started. There are plenty more,
suitable for trading at all character levels. Let me know
if you are interested, and I can give more examples in a
future Secret Warcraft e-mailing.

A couple more tips on this technique:

For efficiency, leave an alt at the Vendor, once you have
proven out a particular item for profit on your server. Just
log in on the alt, check for the limited supply item, then
log out again. Check every hour or so - all day long, if
possible :) For items selling in the Cities, just make a
level 1 or 2 alt for this job.

Buy all you can get of a profitable item. Corner the market so
you are the only seller of the item on the Auction House. If
someone else manages to buy the item from the Vendor, and puts
it up for sale in the AH... buy it out, and re-list it for
your own price, at a profit. CAUTION: this is an advanced
technique, don't try it until you really know how the auction
house works.

When you get to higher levels, and you can travel to towns
like Everlook in Winterspring, there are *unlimited* supply
recipes you can buy for 2g or so, and sell on the Auction
House for 5g easily. Basically, you make money by saving other
players time and effort.

Quest long and prosper, Korsaan!
