From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
Color is the backbone of design. While art photographers will tell you that black and white photos are stylistic, most designers want color on their sites. But just using color willy nilly will result in some really ugly sites.
Designing in Color
Using color on the Web means you need to understand things like triplets and hexadecimal. Luckily, that's not terribly hard.

Colorizing the Web
Color can be added in several ways, changing font colors, background colors, and even thinking about the colors of your images.

Color Theory
Once you understand color theory you'll be able to put together colors that work well together.

Color Harmony
Not all colors work well together. But if you have a color wheel, you can put together nice color combos quickly and easily.

Coming Up Next
In the next lesson, we'll study how fonts can help you impact your Web designs.
